For many of us, Arthur Raymond Be the king of R&B, especially if you’re a post-90s baby! As a huge fan of the Grammy-winning singer, when I received an unexpected invitation to join him on behalf of Remy Martin during his extended residency in Las Vegas, there was no question that I had to be there.
Now, what makes this trip special is that Usher and the Cognac brand have teamed up for the “Usher x Rémy Martin 1738: A Taste of Passion” global campaign, which launched in July with a limited-edition bottle and NFT.
Revealing itself on the direct-to-consumer NFT marketplace BlockBar.com, by combining the voices of “My Way” artists with artificial intelligence technology to create a redesigned black bottle with striking colors. The result was the sound wave that served as the blueprint for the label, graced by just 25 bottles of the rich cognac retailer.

At $500, these bottles sold out in the blink of an eye (literally) and only the few fans who now own the NFT can decide to keep the collectible, resell or send it as a gift to the Block Bar’s marketplace, or wait until October to exchange the non-fungible token for a physical bottle.
Celebrating the 25th anniversary of Usher’s second studio album “My Way” and his Rémy Martin Campaign in an ultra-exclusive two-day celebration, BET.com will be the ultimate Las Vegas sun tour Part of Sunset on the Sunset Strip, our behind-the-scenes virtual diary of what’s happening in Sin City!

After landing in Las Vegas, I was picked up by a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter with mood lighting and headed to the Wynn’s Encore in Las Vegas to meet the rest of the party. While we waited for our room to be ready, we sipped Rémy Sidecar’s and had a snack, then handed our room cards upstairs to take a moment to ourselves before dinner and dancing!

At 8:45 pm I went downstairs to the lobby to have dinner with the rest of the staff and to my surprise I found myself shaking hands with the R&B singer Severn Streetactor and son Diana Ross, Evan Rosswho is one of the guests who will be joining us early in the weekend.
From there, we all headed to Delilahs for a Taste of Passion dinner, and while no photography or video was allowed in the main restaurant and bar, it was for The Great Gatsby! For our group, we were escorted to a private dining room where we enjoyed more Remyk as we mixed and mingled. My drink of choice for the evening was the Rémy Ur Way, a mix of Rémy Martin 1738 Accord Royal, lemon juice, simple syrup and sparkling water – a chef’s kiss! Other drink options include the classic Rémy Sidecar and The Rémy Roller.
Dinner started around 10:30pm and I happened to be sitting in front of one of the long tables just before we were served and to our surprise Usher joined us for dinner!
Let me catch my breath! ! !
We greeted him with a big round of applause, and he took a moment to share the importance of working with Remy Martin, the essence and history of Cognac, and the artificial intelligence technology that goes into making the bottle. (See my photo in the back with a smile on my face 🙂 )
Now for dinner, we all indulge in pastrami wedge salad, king crab caesar salad, burrata, panzanella as our appetizers; chicken and dumplings, alpine salmon, angus steak for main course; side dishes are baked macaroni and baby corn kernels, Dessert was gooey butter cake!
After all the delicious courses, Usher walked up to my table and started talking, we were shocked and in awe that we were in the middle of a legend! To set the tone, he asked where we were all from, “I live in New York City now, passing through Texas,” I exclaimed.
While talking about the new era of social media, Usher ordered a copy of the Rémy Ur Way, then put it on the table to continue commenting on the advantages of using various platforms. He was later pulled away, took a few pictures and said hello to the others in attendance, but left his drink, which I opted to keep cool until he came back lol! He later gave me the option to keep it if I wanted to.
After dinner, the crew (excluding Usher) all set off for a nightlife adventure in Las Vegas.

Good morning! Or afternoon? What a great night in Vegas! For today’s festivities, we all meet in the hotel’s private cottage bungalow! It’s hot (we’re Nevada babies!) but water, and endless food, and Remy Martin, certainlyis the perfect distraction.
To start the rave, Terrence J has arrived, full of laughter and a special toast, cheers!
The sweltering heat ended up getting my best, so I said goodbye and went back to my room to take a nap, have dinner and get ready for the main event.
Friday, July 29, 2022 | Evening | Welcome to the “My Way” Living Experience
At 8:00 p.m. that night, the crew split into two sprint vans to head to Dolby Live at MGM Park in Las Vegas. I sat casually next to the entertainment system so I could play the DJ on a quick 15 minute drive and I queued up all of Usher’s hits, “My Way”, “You Make Me Wanna”, “U Don” ‘t have to call, “Wait! Note: These were performed live by Usher a few hours later.
We were ushered through a private backstage entrance, up the stairs into a room to relax, sip more quora, and take photos in front of the Arthur Money Wall, before walking to the VIP area just a short walk from the main stage.
When the lights dimmed, Usher’s opening dance scene with background dancers set the mood, and the two-hour live event included several costume changes, live horns, a “bad girl” P-Valley-style pole dance and Usher’s much sought-after performance Flipper’s Roller Boogie Roller Turns to Feature His Latest Song city girl, “Good Love”. With other classic hits like “Caught up”, “My Boo”, “U Remind Me”, “Let It Burn”, “Climax”, “OMG”, “Yeah!”, “Confessions”, “Nice & Slow” , ” “Hey, Dad,” and more vocals on the stage, sang each song word for word.
with the iconic music director Los Angeles Reed Sitting a few feet to my right, veteran music producer Jermaine Dupri Sit behind me and trust me when I tell you greatness is in the building!
After the show, Arthur was moved to tears by his performance after a standing ovation.
“There were a lot of hardships, hardships, celebrations in this piece of music that I made, and I really have to say thank you to the two gentlemen who were here tonight,” Arthur said as the lights turned on in the main venue. “Thanks to LA Reid for signing me as we tiptoe towards the 25th anniversary of “My Way” this year, I want to express my deep love and respect to my brother Don Chi-Chi, classic JD, Jermaine Dupri.”
“I’ve been singing for you, but tonight I just want to talk to you, if I can,” Arthur asked the crowd before speaking candidly about his coming of age, love and relationships. “There’s no easy fix for this thing called people. You have to go through things, and sometimes you succeed and sometimes you manage to learn from your mistakes. So for those relationships that grow out of all these songs we’ve made, I really thank God for making me a vessel to help you through this difficult time. He chose me to be able to talk to you through these songs.”
To our surprise, Usher decided to preview a draft track he’d been working on in the studio that he might turn into a song. (*use your imagination here*) With prominent lyrics like “I won’t hold you”, “I’m wearing all black like I’m going to a funeral, no Boyz II Men, but it’s the way to go The end,” and “I must admit I must have cried a billion times,” are sentiments that may be present in the new Usher song that might have us grabbing some tissues.
“Thank you for listening,” Arthur said quietly, walking off the stage.
